Chocolate Sorbet

This rich, smooth, and deeply flavored chocolate sorbet is a must-try for any chocolate lover. Made without dairy, it’s dense and satisfying, with an intense cocoa flavor that rivals even the best chocolate ice cream. It’s a refreshing yet indulgent treat that proves you don’t need cream to enjoy serious chocolate.

Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, broken into chunks
  • 1 quart water
  • 1½ cups sugar
Instructions:
  1. Chop Chocolate:
Use a knife or food processor to chop the chocolate into very small pieces.
  2. Heat & Dissolve:
In a saucepan, heat the water and sugar together over medium heat. Once the sugar is fully dissolved, add the chopped chocolate.
  3. Simmer:
Simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture is smooth and no longer grainy. Do not allow it to boil.
  4. Cool:
Remove from heat and let the mixture cool thoroughly.
  5. Freeze:
Pour the cooled mixture into the bowl of your Whynter ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Serving Suggestions:

Serve with a sprinkle of sea salt, a spoonful of whipped coconut cream, or fresh raspberries for a stunning contrast. This sorbet also makes an excellent base for an affogato-style dessert with espresso poured over top.
