Pear Sorbet

Delicate, smooth, and gently sweet, this pear sorbet is an elegant twist on a classic fruit dessert. Using canned pears makes it easy to enjoy year-round, with no peeling or coring required. The result is a light and refreshing sorbet that’s perfect for serving on its own or as a complement to a richer dessert.

Ingredients:
  • Three 16-ounce cans of pears packed in heavy syrup, drained (discard liquid)
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • 6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions:
  1. Purée the pears:
Place the drained pears in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Mix:
Stir in the simple syrup and lemon juice. Taste and adjust the sweetness or acidity if needed.
  3. Freeze:
Pour the mixture into the bowl of your Whynter ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve in glass dessert bowls with a mint sprig or a thin slice of fresh pear. For a more decadent pairing, try it alongside a piece of dark chocolate or a drizzle of balsamic reduction.
